For my final endeavor this week, I decided to try making a cappuccino. While I do not order cappuccinos very often, it would be fun to try something that scares me: using the milk steamer on my espresso machine. This is a part of the espresso machine that I have been nervous to use because it honestly just looks too fancy and intimidating.
How do I make a Cappuccino?
Ingredients
1 shot of espresso
2/3 cup milk of your choice
Cinnamon or Chocolate Shavings if preferred
How do I make it?
Step 1: Brew one shot of espresso per your espresso maker's directions.
Step 2: Froth your milk of choice (I chose to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk).
Step 3: Pour your espresso into your mug and add your frothed milk.
Step 4: Sprinkle your chocolate or cinnamon on top and enjoy!
Products I used:
Cafe Bustelo Espresso. You can find it here on Amazon. |

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. You can find it here on the HyVee website My Thoughts As previously mentioned, I wanted to try this drink because I was nervous about using the milk steamer on my espresso machine. I was right to be nervous. My first attempt, I chose to wing it and see what happened. Winging it is not one of my recommendations. As it turns out, you need to purge the steamer of condensation before using it. Because I did not know this, I ended up not only with water on my table, but also with pretty watery milk. After this experience, I decided to do some research before trying again. I was able to get my milk to spin and felt I had a good amount of bubbles. I am not a harsh critic, so this was enough to make me happy! Overall, though my micro-foam may not have been perfect, and my latte art was a fail, I thought the drink tasted good and was fun to make! References Cappucino. Starbucks.
