The Classic Iced Latte

For my second espresso-making adventure, I decided to try a classic iced latte. An iced latte is always my old reliable when I am unsure what to get or I am trying a new place. A latte is simply made with espresso, milk, ice, and a sweetener or flavor of your choice.

How do I make an Iced Latte?

Ingredients:

2 shots of espresso

Milk of your choice

Sweetener of your choice

How do I make it?

Step 1:The first step is to brew your espresso per your espresso machine's recommendations. I chose to make a double shot of espresso.

Step 2: Add your espresso to a glass with ice.

Step 3: Fill a jar with milk and your sweetener until it is 3/4 full

Step 4: Shake the mixture and pour it into the glass with espresso and ice.

Step 5: Enjoy!

Products I used:

Cafe Bustelo Espresso. You can find it here on Amazon.

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. You can find it here on the HyVee website.
Agave Nectar. You can find it here on Amazon.

My Thoughts:

In the past, when I have made a drink using a sweetener at home I have never liked the way that it turned out. However, I have always just added the sweetener to the drink and stirred it all together. I think that adding the syrup to the milk and shaking it together made it better for my personal taste. I also liked using agave nectar instead of a vanilla syrup like I have used before, but this is just my personal preference. When I was making my espresso this time, I made a double shot, which is two scoops of espresso, and I stamped the espresso down after each scoop. I think that this made the espresso better than the last time I made espresso. It turned out very smooth, with a good amount of foam on top. Overall, a latte is very easy to make at home and I think I will be making them this way a lot more in the future!
